American post-rock band Tortoise extend their European trek in support of latest album “The Catastrophist”. Tortoise have added more European tour dates over the coming months. The American post-rock band announced their spring trek in April in support of latest album The Catastrophist – with further dates planned through the year.

The band also announced that they’ve rescheduled their London headline show from the Electric Ballroom on July 7 to London’s Dome at Tufnell Park on November 15. Dream Theater have shared a video showcasing the visuals they use when performing the track Moment Of Betrayal onstage. The song is lifted from their latest album The Astonishing and the promo follows the release of their visuals video for track Hymn Of A Thousand Voices last month.

Keyboardist Jordan Rudess said of the record: “I think this is a particular creative adventure for us, to write a concept album very much like a musical or a rock opera.”

“I think that whatever we decide to do next – which we haven’t really decided – will be something very different.” He added: “It’s not going to be another concept album. I don’t think that would be the best thing to do. But it will be some creative adventure that we’ll feel like we want to put our energies behind.”

New Henley Album

Don Henley, The Eagles singer-songwriter, drummer, and producer, has teased us with new tracks from his upcoming album Cass County. Now finally, the wait is over. The album, which is is available from September 25th, features an all-star list of collaborators; including Merle Haggard, Vince Gil, Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, and Mick Jagger. With the release imminent, Henley is sharing two new cuts from the album “That Old Flame” featuring Martina McBride, and “Take A Picture Of This”. Eleven of the songs on the album were co-written and co-produced by producer Stan Lynch. If you pre-order the album on iTunes right now, you can instantly download the two singles.

This album goes back to Henley’s Texas roots and takes us onto the next stage of his creative journey. For all of us Henley fans here at Rock My World the new tracks are sublime. Especially, “Take A Picture Of This”, which can’t help but remind us of the brilliance of his hit “The Heart of the Matter” taken from the 1999 album This Is The End Of The Innocence.

Don Henley will promote the album with a five-week tour of North America beginning in Phoenix, AZ on October 3. Shawn Colvin, no less, is the opening act. Ticket buyers will receive a copy of the deluxe edition CD.

New Album From Bastille

Bastille have announced that they will release their new album, “Wild World”, on 9 September, ahead of an ARENA TOUR in October and November.

“If our first album was about growing up and the anxieties surrounding it, our second is about trying to make sense of the world around you, both as you see it and as it’s presented to you through the media”, says frontman Dan Smith.

“It’s also about asking questions of the world and of the people in it. We wanted the album to be a bit disorientating – at times extroverted and introverted, light and dark”.

The album’s first single, “Good Greif”, was released last month.
